My Philosophy on art
My personal philosophy not only in art but in life - is that every one is an artist.
I believe that creativity and the drive to create is an innate human quality. I also recognize all the barriers that modern life has put in place to block the joy that comes from creating. We can see this in children, they are so creative and driven to make art, make other creations, or make up entire worlds in their imaginations. As we grow we lose touch with this while making ourselves busy with school and work and the pure misery of adolescence.
By the time we become adults, many of us are so critical of ourselves that when we try to create and it doesn’t look how we want we can’t help but become discouraged. By creating for sake of creating you can help yourself manage the discouragement until you’re more happy with your works.
To embody your own inner artist you’ll need to throw away all the conditioning that has led you to believe you are not an artist.
Many of us, often from a young age, are taught that to be an artist you have to have some kind of natural born talent or somehow be able to execute realism portraits. However, like many things, creating art is a skill that you develop over time. Art is also so much more than just traditional paintings. Art is so much more, when we recognize that we can more easily recognize the beauty in our own creations. The great thing about art is, even just as a beginner you can create beautiful artworks that others love and want.
The drive to create shows itself to us in magical ways throughout our lives.
Our inner artists not only show themselves when they want to paint or to create music. Your own inner artist may look like a woodworker, a fashion designer, or an architect. By expanding our view of artistic expression we can allow ourselves to more fully embody our authentic selves. We also grow to have a deeper appreciation of simple things in life.
Art is everywhere and everyone is an artist.
